Thank you to my neighbor’s dog for barking at the perfect moment I hit ‘confirm transaction.’ Because somehow, all of this chaos gave me — an absolute newbie who only a month ago didn’t even know what “TVL” meant — my first $600 airdrop income.
My mentor told me I’m useless — “Why are you this excited over a few hundred dollars?” But honestly, as a broke intern who squeezes time after work just to learn Web3… $600 feels like the universe finally throwing me a welcome gift.
Why was I able to earn this $600?
Luck. Real luck.
Many airdrop projects take months to mature. For beginners, the long waiting easily crushes your motivation. I almost gave up after week one.
But this time, the feedback came fast.
Fast enough to keep me hooked.
Fast enough to stop me from quitting.
I finally understood the ‘format’ instead of blindly copying.
I’m genuinely grateful for my mentor here. He walked me through how different Airdrop models work:
- Alpha = transaction volume airdrop
Less complicated than pure on-chain farming.
Simple inputs → predictable outcomes.
Once I understood the model, I could:
- calculate cost
- Follow the SOP
- estimate returns
- execute without fear
There were barely any tutorials at that time, so I learned by watching my mentor’s past airdrop recordings. That clarity saved me.
But why only $600? Why Not More?
I don’t have money.
Trading with small capital is emotionally painful. Every tiny loss feels like someone stole food from your fridge. So I didn’t dare to maximize the strategy.
My mentor said:
If you weren’t scared, your profits would double.
If you used multiple accounts, you’d make even more. But this is my reality.
I can’t change my starting point.
I can only change my trajectory.
So yes — the reason I didn’t earn more is simple: I’m poor right now. But that won’t stay true forever.
My mentor didn’t do it himself.
He believes Alpha’s model damages the ecosystem long-term and will eventually decline. So he avoided it… and sent me instead. A classic “share the blame” situation. Thanks? I guess?
My Next Moves (Feel Free to Steal This Roadmap)
1. Move away from Alpha as returns shrink.
I’m shifting focus to on-chain projects with low hype but high long-term value.
The earlier you enter,
the cheaper your cost,
The bigger your airdrop.
2. Keep farming Metora’s LP drops.
My mentor said: This might be the biggest airdrop of the year.”
I trust him.
Even though LP farming sometimes loses money (not the airdrop part, but the system’s mechanics).
My KunKun LP last night gave me:
- double transaction fee earnings
- a huge amount of airdrop points
What’s Next for Me? Creating Output to Learn Faster
Airdropping can feel lonely sometimes. Most people around me don’t understand why I’m excited about “fake internet coins.”
So I’m planning to publish:
- beginner breakdowns
- step-by-step SOPs
- my project research notes
- my failures (and what they taught me)
Not because I’m an expert. But because teaching forces deeper understanding.
